Meet Acasha Nicholas
Acasha, was born on June 10, 2006 at New York Presbyterian Hospital New York, N.Y. Acasha was diagnosed at a very young age before 5 yrs old with Rett Syndrome. A rare neurological genetic disorder that occurs almost exclusively in girls, more rarely in boys, and leads to severe impairments , affecting nearly every aspect of a child’s life: their ability to speak, walk, eat, and even breathe easily. Acasha has also been diagnosed with Fragile -X Syndrome, a rare genetic condition which causes mild to severe intellectual disability and cognitive impairments along with restrained muscle movement, and hyperactive behavior. Despite many hospitalizations, Acasha continues to remain calm, quiet, and always manages to keep a radiant smile on her face. Acasha has a life. She starts off her day with a morning routine. Prayer, Bible scriptures, listening to and singing praise music. She loves to use her computer tablet to watch her favorite TV shows-that include “ Fresh Beat Band, ‘ Yo GABA GABA ‘ , Super Simple Song” ,counting numbers and just relaxing while listening to music. Acasha has a soothing way of bringing joy and hope into the lives of others. Her close family, friends, and church have faced extreme conditions advocating for her needs. They have not given up hope that a cure will be found one day. This scholarship is an investment into the lives, dreams, and aspirations of students who will become assets throughout our society and communities. We believe in the scholars of tomorrow.

About Us
During the spring of 2022 Evangelist Beverly Bishop, Acasha’s grandmother and long standing member of Grace Fellowship Ministries Inc., approached Apostle Billy R. Richards, the facilitator and overseer of Grace Fellowship Ministries with a legacy blessing to start an educational scholarship specifically to help those that are in need of academic financial support.
At the behest of Apostle Billy R. Richards the Acasha Nicholas Scholarship Fund
was inspired and incorporated in the of summer 2022 to honor Acasha’s life as a blessing exclusively for the purpose of providing financial support for the educational and professional development of qualified deserving students . This is our way of helping to make college education accessible and affordable for our future leaders.
Our
Purpose

The Acasha Nicholas Scholarship was established by Grace Fellowship Ministries Inc. to provide support for the academic needs of qualified and deserving students in a course of study at an accredited educational facility to benefit from financial educational assistance.
It is our general sentiment that college acceptance and attendance creates a pathway for personal, economic, social, and intellectual benefits. Our belief is that higher education serves as the building blocks for success in today's multifaceted workplaces. This faith-based scholarship is awarded to qualified high school and college students whom we feel will maintain the core values of scholarship, service, and being a blessing to others.
The Acasha Nicholas Scholarship Fund financially supports students who are committed to engage in community service. The scholarship contributes to the development and cohesion of communities which fosters a sense of responsibility and giving back thereby continuing the tradition of maintaining strong values across generations.
